I figure I can do a weekly update of movies that will at least keep most people entertained from Netflix. I should warn, it's Netflix Canada, so it may not have everything you want, but one works with what one has.Romance: Before we Go (2014) has Chris Evans in his directorial debut and as an actor alongside Alice Eve. It's a short romance movie about two people that meet serendipitously and spend the night together. Really a sweet movie and super fun. I love Chris Evans and think he gets the best out of Alice Eve, of whom I am not completely sold on.
Action: xXx (2002) would be my choice this week as I saw a trailer for the newest Xander Cage movie at the theatre. It's like James Bond for adrenaline junkies. Not a lot of plot, but pretty fun and you get to see Vin Diesel from a long ass time ago, as well as Asia Argento, the daughter of Dario Argento who is possibly the most famous Italian Director ever.
Horror: Mr. Brooks (2007) brought Kevin Costner back into relevancy. He plays a guy with a split personality, but the rub is that the split personality (played by William Hurt) is a murderer. Costner knows this and basically goes along with it. Super fun show that has Demi Moore looking Fine and Dane Cook in a role that didn't make me hate me life.
Sci-fi: Aaron Eckhart owns the role as Adam in I, Frankenstein (2014). Too bad that every other person in this movie phoned it in. Funny to watch, but don't watch it if you're sick, it will only make it worse for you.
Cartoon: Disney's Atlantis: the Lost Empire (2001) was an under appreciated Disney movie in my eyes. Michael J. Fox plays a scientist who ineptly leads an expedition to the lost city. Super fun and as with all Disney movies, done very well.
Comedy: Mean Girls (2004) holds up guys. Lindsay Lohan is sexy as hell, Rachel McAdams is nuts, Lacey Chabert is sexy as hell, Tina Fey is ALSO sexy as hell. Funny, smart, written well and has Tim Meadows as the principal and he's awesome.
