Starring: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Ving RhamesPlot: Ethan Hunt returns to action to try and find The Syndicate, an anti-IMF group trained to emit chaos and destruction around the globe.Review: First things first... Tom Cruise is sick. I know a lot of people rag on him for not being all there mentally and being a Scientologist, but I want everyone to know that I love Tom Cruise. I think he's a great actor, and probably a pretty awesome guy. Only top of that, he's 53 years old and is in just amazing shape. The guy does his own stunts in these movies and a lot of people are going to immediately talk about how he flew on a plane in the movie. That scene was cool and probably hella dangerous (sorry for the use of the word hella, but I thought it necessary), but the big scene in my mind is where Ethan Hunt is handcuffed while standing and his arms a rove his head, ready for torture. He grabs hold of the pole and repeatedly does kip-ups to the top of the pole and stop being trapped. I am describing it very poorly, but I want everyone to watch this movie and just... when you see it, think about if you could do that feat. I know for a fact I would rather just be tortured and die than have to do that.Add Simon Peggs comedic timing, Ving Rhames' classic "I'm a big scary guy" and Jeremy Renner's little bit of everything and you have yourself not only a great group for an action flick, but what could also be a dynamite 4 for a buddy cop comedy movie. I really enjoyed this movie, it was done really well. The action scenes are what people pay for, and I have to say that I thought it would be difficult to beat Ghost Protocol, but I think it did. They didn't blow up the Kremlin, which was a good thing, but they did so much else to beat it. Motorcycle chases, airplane rides, underwater break ins, so much more.Alec Baldwin adds a nice little bit go old man panache to the movie, and I know he isn't that much older than Cruise, but he looks so venerable and proper that it's hard to think otherwise. I am very glad they didn't have him play the Bosley role from Charlie's Angels, because that would have been really dumb and very unfortunate. Bill Murray was wasted on a role made for a retarded monkey.Renner and Rhames played more secondary characters in the movie, but that's not a bad thing. Rhames isn't a good actor, and Renner is in so much that he doesn't need to be at the forefront of anything these days. Two good additions to the movie, they sort of did a buddy cop thing on their own, but a bit more... serious than I would like. It was like Turner and Hooch, but Rhames and Renner instead.Simon Pegg is... just great. I love him so much and I think he's super fun. The comedic relief of the movie as well as the glue who holds the group together.I just really liked this movie a lot. It was fun and action packed and really everything I could have asked for in a movie. I won't go too in depth into any of it, because I don't want to ruin it at all. Watch this movie guys.
