Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)

Hey everybody! Been a little while since I posted a review. I'd been thinking about the reviews in general and wanted to try a new format. Maybe it'll be the new hip thing that all the kids will get into. Anyways, here's the plan–I'm going to attempt a TL;DR review. To anyone that isn't aware of the term, TL;DR is internet speak for "too long; didn't read" and is a summation of what's going on in a thread, etc. I don't know how much time people actually dedicate to reading the lengthy reviews on here, so I thought I'd work with that and make the reviews cleaner, crisper, and less weighty. Feel free to drop a line on Twitter (@timtheyeti or @borderlessyeti) about the change. We'll see how it goes!

  • Another impossible mission, this time involving the fallout (see what I did there) of the previous entry into the MI series.

  • Action scenes are intense, insane. The motorcycle chase had me genuinely fearful for Cruise's safety.

  • Tom Cruise is still doing his own stunts.

  • A continuity in the MI series which gets a little more interesting as it moves forward.

  • Seeing Cruise and Cavill duke it out.

  • Nice to see Ethan and his first wife catch some screen time together.

  • Theme song is still awesome

  • Plot is predictable.

  • The MI schtick is getting tired.

Final Thoughts

Mission Impossible: Fallout is a decent summer action movie. It does the job to keep the series going and inevitably we'll see another in a year or two.
